From the Lafayette PD Chief:
Last night a resident of Happy Valley came home and, after parking his car in the driveway, he was robbed at gunpoint. […] The suspect then fled the area and the resident immediately called the police. Officers from throughout the region responded, and even the canines from the Sheriff’s Office and a helicopter from the CHP were there to help, too. We set the perimeter, hunted for the suspect, and collected the evidence, but we weren’t able to find the creep.
According to the police chief, neighbors received a police bulletin about the robbery. To get access to the report to help with the search, “Send me [LPD chief] your name, email address, and your home address and we’ll get the information to you.” Did any Lafayette residents receive the report? I wonder why they don’t take advantage of the Lafayette Nixle messaging service or Twitter to publicize the crime search?

1149 S. Main St, Walnut Creek
I’m not sure how definite this is but a reliable source told me that Barnes & Noble may be closing in downtown Walnut Creek at the corner of S. Main St. and Olympic Blvd. If so the manager is not aware of this so maybe it’ll stay after all.
The demolition of part of Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek has now begun as their redevelopment plan goes forward. As you can see in the above photo, the backside and side where Burberry used to be is completely gone.
The other side of Broadway Plaza is still open, as are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Macy’s. In May Tesla will be opening a showroom, and based on some scuttlebutt Madewell and Michael Kors plan on opening in the new section.
1387 Locust St, Walnut Creek
Crogan’s Bar & Grill in downtown Walnut Creek recently had its alcoholic beverage license suspended so they are closed until May 7th. According to the California Department of Beverage Control the reasons for suspension were “created conditions contrary to public welfare and morals” and “disorderly premises”.
