The Italian restaurant Mangia Mi has expanded into the building in front on Hartz Ave. where the antique and interior design boutique Sweet Magnolia used to be where they added a new bar and additional dining space. Check out their food menu here and drinks menu here.

Has anyone complained about the significant rise in vagrancy in downtown WC – especially around the S California, Mt Diablo Blvd down to Newell block? The council seems unprepared to acknowledge or address this and it is getting out of hand, with homeless taking their dogs into restaurants and one recently filling up a huge garbage bag of ice from the dispenser in the Habit while paying customers stood waiting? It is impacting the lifestyle we residents pay top dollar for when choosing WC as the town to buy property and raise families. If I wanted to live with homeless we would have bought somewhere in downtown SF . . .

The discount department store T.J. Maxx is coming to Ygnacio Plaza in Walnut Creek where Fresh & Easy used to be. Claycord posted about this last week which is based on the latest retail property listing for the Ygnacio Plaza shopping center.

A new ice cream / frozen yogurt shop that we learned would be opening on Hartz Ave. in Danville called Bloogrape Organic Sworls has now opened. In addition to ice cream and frozen yogurt they have an additional base option call “vegan coconut base”, available in plain or chocolate that sounds intriguing. Check out their menu here and here.
