I work from home but recently I’ve been driving or taking BART to San Francisco and other cities through the tunnel and can’t believe the traffic coming east bound in the afternoon. It really crawls even with the fourth bore. Where do you work? Is traffic or public transit becoming worse these days or is this typical?

Blackhawk Plaza, Danville
In March we learned that San Francisco-based Beep’s Burgers would be coming to Blackhawk Plaza in Danville and the signage is now up and they are now hiring on Craigslist here. Check out their San Francisco menu here.

1388 Locust St, Walnut Creek
Thanks to everyone for sending word that after three years in Walnut Creek Sunol Ridge restaurant and bar has closed. Note that three resaturants on this Locust St. & Cypress St. corner are all closed. Crogan’s closed earlier this year and Stelle Bistro closed right after Sunol Ridge opened three years ago in July. And life goes on.
The message on and offline says:
We are reassessing the vision of Sunol Ridge and will cease operations effective August 1, 2017.
We thank you for your patronage over the years and look forward to serving you again.

Broadway Pointe, Walnut Creek
The online thrift store ThredUp is opening their second location in downtown Walnut Creek where H&M used to be in the Broadway Pointe shopping center on August 17th. A sign inside says “ThredUp popup” so this may be a temporary popup shop but there is no mention of this being a popup in this Forbes article, where the founder notes that people in Walnut Creek are “more affluent and suburban, and that store will offer more designer brands and more handbags.” Check out their website here, and enter for your chance at a $500 shopping spree in the Walnut Creek store here.

1385 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
Earlier this year we posted scuttlebutt about how the boba cafe T4 may be coming to downtown Walnut Creek and this is now been confirmed based on a peek inside. T4 already has one cafe in Walnut Creek in Ygnacio Plaza and this will be, incredibly, the fourth boba cafe in downtown Walnut Creek in addition to Mr. Green Bubble, Chalogy, and iTea. There are now more boba cafes than ice cream shops (Lottie’s Creamery, CREAM, San Francisco Creamery) in downtown Walnut Creek!
I’m still waiting for a rice pudding cafe though…
