Thanks to those who sent word that the Walnut Creek DMV closed for good last month. According to the East Bay Times a new office will open in Pleasanton and stay tuned for a, “multi-family apartment complex on the lot” in the future. Check out the Concord DMV for a nearby office.

In September we learned that the North Vancouver-based clothing and gear company Arc’teryx would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek where Everything But Water used to be, and they have now opened. Check out their online shop here. There’s still 25% off sitewide through today. It’s a small shop but all very high quality goods.

I was holding out hope that Napa-based Heritage Eats, which opened a couple of years ago at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, would reopen, but alas, their signage has been taken down, with nary a mention on their website. Their Napa location is still open so check out their menu if you’re in the area. I enjoyed eating here while they were open and they were one of the last places I ate at before the SIP orders closed indoor dining.

The children’s store Hanna Andersson, which opened several years ago at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, has closed according to the Broadway Plaza store directory, and their signage has been removed. Check out their online shop here.

Bedford Gallery is thrilled to reopen to the public on Tuesday, October 13 with the juried and invitational exhibition Bird, Nest, Nature. Juried by Jeffrey De Blois, Assistant Curator, ICA Boston and Rebecca Lowery, Assistant Curator, MOCA Los Angeles, the exhibition includes over 150 local, national and international artists inspired by the exquisite beauty of creatures of flight. Following guidelines outlined by Contra Costa Health Services, indoor museums, including our gallery, can reopen as of September 29.
