Bishops Cuts & Color, the Portland-based unisex hair care shop which we learned would be coming to Danville Square next to Trader Joe’s this summer has now opened. They opened at the beginning of the year in Walnut Creek so the expansion continues. Check out their services here.

Handworks of Danville closed last month in Danville and Oregon-based cycling studio StarCycle will be opening their first Bay Area franchise studio in this location. Note that they will offer childcare. Find out more about the classes and founders here.

Cool Tea Bar, which opened last summer in Danville, has been renamed Koala Tea Cafe. In addition to boba drinks they now offer sweet and savory crepes, ice cream, coffee, slushies and smoothies. I had a simple root beer float for $3.50 which was well worth it on a hot summer day!
150 Hartz Avenue, Danville
The Chinese restaurant Wonderland closed earlier this month and Nanking Bistro has now reopened in its place on Hartz Ave. in Danville next to Fosters Freeze. Check out their menu here. I wonder how their house wings compares to my favorite at San Tung on Irving St. in San Francisco?
501 Hartz Ave, Danville
In June we learned that Basil Leaf Cafe would be closing in Danville and they are now closed. Keep on the lookout for Cocina Hermanas (from Harvest across the street) to open here this fall.
Iron Horse Plaza, Danville
Over the weekend Noah’s Bagels opened at Iron Horse Plaza in Danville. In addition to usual dishes and drinks they also offer kombucha, cold brew iced tea and coffee on tap. Check out their menu here. I smiled when I saw the t-shirts they wore, Holla for Challah.

The gift shop and arts & crafts store Handworks of Danville is closing their retail store August 25th (according to an employee I spoke with over the weekend) after 25 years in business. They plan on offering an online shop which you can check out here.

After 25 years, we are closing the retail store in Danville downtown at the end of August.
It has been sure fun but retail is all going online and local stores are all struggling. So we have decided to take Handworks also full online in few months after we close the retail store.

Danville Hotel Town Center
Macy’s-owned skincare company Bluemercury is coming to Danville Hotel Town Center on Hartz Ave. this fall, where Heavenly Couture used to be. A couple of years ago they opened in nearby Lafayette at La Fiesta Square so their expansion in the East Bay continues. Check out their website here and find out more about the founders here.
