Hear it first at Live! from the Library! Experience an exclusive sneak-peek into the making of Tangle Eye, a newly composed work for cello, at “Fresh Ink: New Music.”

California Symphony’s Donato Cabrera and Dan Visconti will be joined by Israeli-American cellist Inbal Segev as they uncover the journey of new music in America. Attendees will hear short excerpts of Tangle Eye, enjoying the richness and traditional melodic and virtuosic nature of this true cello concerto, which is commissioned by the California Symphony and which will see its world premiere on May 7 at the Lesher Center for the Arts.

Cabrera is Music Director for California Symphony and Las Vegas Philharmonic, and is former Resident Conductor of San Francisco Symphony. Visconti is a TED Fellow and Rome Prize winner, and is finishing his final season with California Symphony as the Young American Composer-in-Residence. Segev began playing cello at age five and has performed as soloist with top orchestras around the world.
