Spotted next to Neiman Marcus and Chico’s in downtown Walnut Creek, the sign says:
PROTECTED TREES
These trees are in a Tree Protection Zone (TPZ). No one is allowed to disturb or damage these trees. The City of Walnut Creek Code provides $1,000 fine and six months in jail for violations.

So if you happen to be waiting around that area with others please be sure to maintain a quiet voice so as to not disturb the tree. Thank you.
