After 29 years, the iconic Walnut Creek Yacht Club is closing May 7th in downtown Walnut Creek. I remember sending my kids to their kids’ summer cooking classes which was outstanding. There will be a “Memorabilia & Wine Sale” on, “May 12–16, May 19–23 and May 26-30 we’ll be at WCYC packing up and selling memorabilia, wine, and merchandise at discounted prices.”

Last month we learned that Ananas Coffee would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek where CREAM used to be, and they are expected to open very soon, possible next week. Look for coffee from Zolo Coffee Roasters, and bread and pastries from ACME.

City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
Khaki Bar and Indian Canteen is coming to City Center Bishop Ranch where Curry Up Now Indian Street Food used to be.


I couldn’t help but chuckle at the FRESH CREAM PUFFS signage outside a dessert place in Cupertino, with only CREAM PUFFS lit up. I guess if I want fresh cream puffs I’ll have to look elsewhere.

City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
While checking out City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon over the weekend, I noticed many people walking by drenched in colors. It was only later that I realized this was part of the Holi festival. According to this Wikipedia article, “Holi is a major Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colours, Love, Equality and Spring”.
