Joe & the Juice opened recently at the Park Plaza Shops in Lafayette where Squirrel’s Coffee Shop used to be. In addition to drinks they also offer sandwiches and yogurt. Check out their menu here. I heard they tried to be edgy so wasn’t surprised that all three employees bore plenty of tattoos. I asked one employee whether tattoos were required to work there and he was speechless for a moment before replying that they weren’t. Out of curiosity I’ll have to drop by another time to see if there are tattoo-less employees.
The Danville-based gift shop Lemon is opening their second location today at Park Plaza Shops across from the Lafayette Plaza park. They feature, “high quality items, organic baby/spa items, gifts people really want to give and get & carry local California items.” Items can also be ordered online with a local pickup (and gift wrapping) option here. If you’re having lunch at Sideboard next door definitely drop by to check this place out!

The much anticipated opening of Danville-based comfort food restaurant Sideboard took place last week and over the weekend I dropped by to check it out and was happy to see that same casual charm their Danville location offers. I tried the skirt steak sandwich with chimichurri sauce. arugula and caramelized onions and it was delicious! I look forward to going back to try some more dishes out. Check out their morning menu here, lunch menu here, dinner menu here, and beverage menu here. Like their Danville location (and nearby Roam Burgers), you order directly at the cashier, get a tag and sit down where your food is delivered.
