It was rather eerie strolling through Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek over the weekend during prime shopping hours as stores were closed with the exception of Boudin Bakery for pick-up and almost nobody around except for the occasional dog walker. Oddly, the same pop music was piping through speakers as if nothing had changed.
Not the greatest timing for a new store but SoCal-based men’s clothing store TravisMathew opened over the weekend at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Interestingly there is a tabletop video game (Pac-Man I think), which you can see in the photo below at left. Too bad nobody can go out to see it. Since parts of SoCal are shutting down as well it’ll be a while before online orders are delivered but you can check out their online selection here.
Due to the Orange County Ordinance issued on March 17th regarding COVID-19 requiring businesses to temporarily shut down, the TravisMathew office and warehouse will be closed until end of day March 31st at the earliest. Unfortunately, orders will see a delay in shipment until at least this date. Thank you and be safe!
The SoCal-based men’s clothing store, TravisMathew, is coming soon to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek where Lou & Grey used to be. Check out their online selection here.

As you can see in the above photo the entire front facade can be rolled up for the ultimate indoor-outdoor retail experience. Inside is light and airy with a relaxing SoCal beach vibe. In 2004, Gorjana Reidel followed a creative impulse and launched an eponymous, quintessentially Californian jewelry line with the help of her husband, Jason Griffin Reidel.
The driven and passionate duo combined their individual strengths to build the company from the ground up. They hit the road with samples in tow and drove a collective 50,000 miles to sell the initial collection. Initial orders were fulfilled from their apartment floor and they worked the trade show circuit as a team of two.
Last October the dinosaurs at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek were first spotted but they inexplicably went missing in December. As you can see in the above photo they have now returned to the same spot as before, next to Macy’s.
The coworking space Industrious opened recently at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Over the weekend I entered where the Broadway Plaza bathrooms are located, next to lululemon. The offices are located on the second floor. Check out the amenities and find out more here. Looks really nice inside!

Until fairly recently Amazon Books at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek had no price tags. You had to scan items on one of their scanners scattered around the store. I’m glad they now have electronic price tags with both Prime and non-Prime pricing that can be automatically updated. Way more convenient shopping there now!
