Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Although I haven’t seen this announced yet, thanks to a reader for pointing out that according to the Broadway Plaza Redevelopment web page, the island-lifestyle clothing store “Tommy Bohama” is coming to Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek so it looks like they may be relocating from their nearby store on Mt. A new vintage home decor shop called Kait’s Art Vintage Home opened a couple of months ago in Pleasant Hill. In addition to home decor pieces they also offer paint parties for adults and children and are planning on offering paint & sip parties in May. Check for updates on their Facebook page here.
From their website:
Create With Kait is all about finding your inner creative side. I provide a fun, positive and stress free environment that helps to bring out your inner artist. Instead of being “by the book,” I have a simple philosophy that I live by ever since I graduated from Cal Poly. “Learn By Doing” and create whatever you can with one-on-one guidance. Art is fun! I make sure that is my top priority at all times in my classes.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The children’s store Land of Nod, owned by Crate & Barrel, recently opened a temporary pop-up shop within the Broadway Plaza Crate & Barrel in downtown Walnut Creek. It’s very small, framed in wood and shows off a children’s bed, crib and various toys and accessories. Check out their website here. It looks like Crate & Barrel is testing how popular it will do with the potential for a separate opening in Walnut Creek in the future. Stay tuned…

7001 Sunne Ln, Walnut Creek (Treat Blvd.)
Thanks to a reader pointing out that the the indoor dog space Zoom Room, which opened a couple of years ago, is closing in Walnut Creek (near the Pleasant Hill BART station), on February 21st. The owner commented on their Facebook page that they will be, “forming a new dog training company and Courtney and Meagan will likely be joining me! We will not have a physical location to start. We will offer in-home training until we can afford a space to do group classes in.” Check out their Facebook page for updates.
From their Facebook page:
It is with extreme regret that I inform you that we will be closing our doors on February 21st. Unfortunately, our rent has become too high for us to remain in business. This decision pains me and my staff members greatly as we love you and your dogs so much. It’s been amazing to be a part of this community, and I thank you so much for all of the great times we have shared.
Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
This fall we learned that Orchard Supply Hardware was coming to the Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center where Lucky’s used to be and they have now opened. How does Orchard compare with Home Depot and Lowe’s?
