Vineyard Vines, which opened over ten years ago in downtown Walnut Creek, has closed. I guess there weren’t enough preppy fashion people to support the store. When I peaked inside over the weekend, that cool looking swordfish is still there. Their Burlingame location remains open. Check out their online selection here.

Allbirds, which opened a couple of years ago at Broadway Plaza, is closing this Sunday. They noted in an email that their Hayes Valley (San Francisco) and Stanford Shopping Center (Palo Alto) locations remain open. Thanks to a reader for pointing out that it looks like New Balance is expected to open in this spot. Stay tuned…

A new olive oil and Mediterranean goods store called Verde Gourmet opened recently in downtown Walnut Creek. Check out their online selection here. They plan on offer complimentary tastings of their olive oils paired with fresh bread throughout the day. Note that Ananas cafe next door has the same owner.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Kim Kardashian’s activewear and underwear brand SKIMS is planning to open in a large space at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek where Janie & Jack, the Makers Market and Sur la Table used to be. Check out their online selection here.

Jewelry store Davidson & Licht has reopened in their N. Main location with a brand new facade. In the fall, they temporarily relocated to Broadway Plaza where P. F. Chang’s used to be. Hopefully they can fix the shattered window seen at bottom left. Their font selection is interesting. Originally, it what a much larger cursive font, now replaced by a smaller modern looking font.
