Back in March I pointed out that the jewelry store Davidson & Licht reopened in downtown Walnut Creek in a new building but at the time the construction was still finishing up but now behold the new street facade. Looks great.
Food Bank Benefit – The Art of John Lennon:
1531 Locust St, Walnut Creek
Friday, May 9th – Sunday, May 11th
$3 (donation)Continuing the Lennon legacy of peace and love, Yoko Ono, Legacy Productions & Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano are proud to bring The Art of John Lennon to Downtown Walnut Creek for 5 of the last 7 years of his life. During those years he channeled his philosophy through his drawings. They, along with earlier sketches and song lyrics make up nearly the nearly 100 limited edition lithographs, serigraphs and copper etchings that will be on display. His artwork is both inspirational and generational. John leaves behind a potent message for future generations. These exhibits have not only been a forum to view John as an artist but also as a venue to raise funds and awareness for countless local charities. This exhibit will be benefitting Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. For the past 20+ years Yoko has brought this collection around the world as meeting place for Lennon, Beatle, peace, music, humanitarian, activist, lyricist, satirist and icon fans from all different walks of life.

I noticed a For Lease sign by the Dudum Real Estate Group over House of Beads in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust St. Next door Diane’s Bikini is opening up and is currently getting remodeled. If you look at the post I made about Diane’s you’ll notice a Herman Commercial Real Estate sign was used so something apparently changed hence the lease sign over House of Beads, in downtown Walnut Creek since 1994. Check out the House of Beads site here.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Taylor Made Cakes & Yogurt recently opened, replacing Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt in the Palos Verdes mall in Walnut Creek.
From their website:
Taylor Made Cakes is a grassroots movement started by Taylor who wanted to bring the gift of a special experience to her friends and family. In 2011, her hobby turned into a business in which she wanted to deliver her passion and talent to people of all walks of life who were looking to have the same experience delivered to their moment of celebration. By mid-2011 her cakes were in high demand through word of mouth, and soon she realized that she was not the only one who believed in her top quality cakes and cupcakes. TMC wanst to bring old school integrity and hard work values by giving back to our communities, our people not only believe in the product and our company but the impact our business has on our community, local farmers, and our environment.
