AR Worskhop, the DIY creative studio which opened last spring, now has a Drink Bar offering a selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages in the back section of their studio. This allows children and others to work on their projects in front at the same time as those who want to enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the back. Danville Soup and Salad Shack, which we learned would be coming to Danville earlier this year where Edge Boutique used to be on E. Prospect Ave, has now opened. They will have a huge selection of new and used skis, boards, boots, poles, helmets, goggles, and apparel in adult and children’s sizes, along with expert advice to make sure you get just the right fit.
You’ll find skis, boards and boots from Rossignol, K2, Volkl, Dynastar, Burton, Salomon and more. Snowsuits, bibs, pants, snow boots, jackets, gloves in all sizes, from name brands such as Columbia, Obermeyer, Burton, North Face, Sorel, etc. at ¼ to 1/2 of original prices.
If you have gently used equipment or outerwear that your family has outgrown or no longer needs, you can donate it to the swap. The funds raised from its sale will go back to the school to help fund educational programs. All donations are tax deductible.

In June we learned that Basil Leaf Cafe would be closing in Danville and more details are coming out about the Mexcian restaurant Cocina Hermanas, owned by Darren Matte of Harvest across the street and Per Diem in San Francisco:

Mr. Matte’s future Mexican cuisine establishment will marry well-known Mexican street food and family dishes with a philosophy of fresh, local and sustainable ingredients. A new bar stretching the front of the restaurant will also provide diners with an extensive selection of mescals, tequilas and specialty cocktails to complement their dining experience.
An expected opening for Cocina Hermanas is scheduled for mid November.

Pleasanton-based Salon 77 West, which offers special event hair/makeup, microblading, threading, eyelash services and more has opened in a new Danville spot where Jerol’s Salon used to be on Hartz Ave. Check out their services here.
