California Shock Trauma Air Rescue (CalSTAR) will demonstrate the helicopter landing process and deliver a safety briefing on Monday, August 17 at 6:30 pm at Heather Farm Park (northern most fields #5 and #6) in Walnut Creek. The free demonstration is being sponsored by the City’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and is open to the general public. CalSTAR personnel will discuss how and when air transport is appropriate for trauma and medical patients in the field, what makes a safe landing zone, and safety practices around helicopters.
