The Melt Opened at Danville Square next to Trader Joe’s. I always thought this was a grilled cheese restaurant, but based on the tagline, “World’s Meltiest Burger”, I guess they’re known for their burgers? How do the burgers compare to Roam or Habit? Check out their menu here.

The kickboxing gym iLoveKickboxing is opening a new studio at Danville Square this spring. They opened last summer in the Avalon apartment complex near the Pleasant Hill BART station in Walnut Creek (same franchise owner). Earlier this year Portland-based unisex hair care shop Bishops Cuts & Color opened in downtown Walnut Creek and they are also going to be opening in Danville Square where Trader Joe’s is located. Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery soft opened over the weekend in the Danville Square shopping center where Trader Joe’s is located. I had a chance to try the cupcake-infused Chocoholic ice cream and boy was it delicious. Come summer this may be my go-to dessert when I’m in Danville. Yum! Check out their menu here.

In December we learned about a new cupcake and ice cream shop called Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery coming to Danville Square where zpizza used to be and their signage is now up so hopefully they’ll be opening soon… Check out their menu here. According to their FAQ, they will also offer pupcakes, “made with carrot cake, pumpkin, soybean oil, peanut butter and buttercream. Our signature Pupcake is then topped with a real Milkbone training treat!”
