Bonne Nuit, the lingerie store in downtown Walnut Creek is closing. This location is being shared with the European clothing store jeu.de.jupe and it looks like jeu.de.jupe will remain after Bonne Nuit leaves. I believe jeu.de.jupe moved to the Bonne Nuit location a couple of years ago from a few blocks away. All Bonne Nuit items are 25% off, with some items marked down 50%.

e Bar

i Bar
What a strange pairing having Nordtrom’s e Bar cafe a few steps away from an eyebrow waxing store called the i Bar at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek. I can just imagine the misunderstandings taking place at this very moment. Anyone else find this amusing?

The green fencing has finally come out at the future Anthropologie store at the corner of Locust St. and Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Walnut Creek. As you can see all the windows have been removed. I look forward to seeing what it will look like when it’s finished. As noted previously, it’s scheduled for completion sometime in 2012.

Down Family Lane, located at the backside of Broadway Plaza across from U Threads has closed its doors around Christmas time Beyond the Creek has learned. For any fans out there not to worry as they will still be available online.

Restoration Hardware restroom

Pottery Barn restroom
Quick, you’re shopping at Williams-Sonoma in downtown Walnut Creek and suddenly realize you need to use the restroom. What are you going to do? There is no bathroom at Williams-Sonoma! Do you go left and try Restoration Hardware, or do you go right and go to Pottery Barn? Well, now you no longer need to wonder because you can judge for yourself. Both are on the second floor, and although I prefer the wainscoting of Restoration Hardware they are both reasonable options.

The Walnut Creek Neiman Marcus is a work of art in progress. Isn’t it beautiful? OK, no more Neiman Marcus posts for at least a week.

Calypso Twist has been closed for a while now, but it was a great addition to downtown Walnut Creek, hosting an eclectic mix of bold, artistic goods that made for great browsing.

Neiman Marcus will be opening in a few short months in March and it looks like they’re ramping up steadily judging from the job searches they’re doing. My question is who plans to shop there? I don’t believe I’ve ever been inside one. From my understanding it’s even higher end than Nordstrom. Anyone been inside? How does it compare to Nordstrom?
