Less than six months later the exterior of the Chinese restaurant OI-C Bowl has been mostly completed as you can see in the above photo. I wonder if that giant picture on the wall will reappear?

A new exhibit, Sky: A National Juried Exhibition is on display at the Bedford Gallery in downtown Walnut Creek in the Lesher Center for the Arts through May 25th.
From the exhibit page:
From ancient mythology to surreal skyscapes, artists and philosophers have long meditated on the theme of sky. This exhibition asks artists to explore how the sky—both atmospheric and conceptual—can be represented in a diverse reach of media.
Sky was juried by DeWitt Cheng, a San Francisco-based writer and critic, andElizabeth Ferrer, Director of Contemporary Art, BRIC, Brooklyn, NY.

Back in January I noted that TheBEND Food Truck Market would be opening this month in Walnut Creek at 2211 N. Main St. but the opening has been pushed back until mid-late April:
To all of our valuable food truckies out there…Unfortunately we have been delayed again. We are looking at mid to late April to open the market. All of us at the the BEND are working very hard with the City of Walnut Creek and doing small site improvements during the next three weeks. Please bear with us as we strive to bring the market to life! As of now we will remove all trucks from the schedule and wait until the construction is nearing an end to open up the schedule for booking!

A new downtown Walnut Creek project to bring 24 high-end condominiums, retail stores and a restaurant next to an expanded Alma Park is being proposed by Hall Equities Group which also developed the space right next to this where Habit Burger Grill is located (note the right side in the above rendering). Check out a Contra Costa Times article here for more info.
I look forward to seeing which restaurant opens here as well as how this project progresses. This looks really nice.
From the Hall Equities Group project page:
This high-profile, urban infill project in downtown Walnut Creek, CA, is bounded by Olympic Boulevard, California Boulevard and Botelho Street.
The site is directly adjacent to Alma Park, and the Alma Park neighborhood – a cluster of high-quality for sale and for rent mid-rise properties surrounding the park. Centre Place enjoys excellent access, via Olympic Blvd., to Interstate 680, just two blocks away. Olympic Blvd. is the dominant entryway into Walnut Creek’s retail core and award-winning Broadway Plaza Shopping Center.
The Centre Place site originally consisted of a 19,000 SF retail center – a prior conversion of a 1950’s-era auto and tire service facility.

Back in November I learned that Jalisco Gourmet Burritos had closed and now thanks to a reader tip I have learned that a new Concord-based Mexican restaurant called Taqueria el Molino has recently opened in this Nob Hill Shopping Center location. Their Concord location offers catering while the Walnut Creek location offers sit-down and to-go meals. Check out their menu below. For those who have tried this place, what dish do you recommend?
