Homegrown Sustainable Sandwiches Opens in Lafayette

Last year we learned that the Seattle-based restaurant Homegrown Sustainable Sandwiches would be opening in Lafayette where La Boulange Cafe used to be and they have now opened. Check out their menu here. I had an opportunity to try their Grass-Fed Steak & Bleu cheese sandwich, made with grass-fed tri-tip steak, pt. reyes farmstead bleu, caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli & greens To me the pungent blue cheese really pulled everything together which made for one tasty sandwich. With their organic farm located in nearby Discovery Bay and a focus on fresh, seasonal cuisine, I look forward to trying out other salads, soups and sandwiches as summer approaches!
